Photography and Writing Honors 2024

Mike Lunsford has had an excellent 2024 as both a writer and photographer. This past February, he earned six “Arts-in-Craft” awards from the Hoosier Outdoor Writer’s Association, including four first place ribbons in Outdoor and Conservation writing.  In April, Mike took first place honors at the Covered Bridge Association’s “Abstract Show” with his “Monarch and a Twist of Aster.” In May, Lunsford was named the 2024 Reader’s Choice winner as “Best Columnist,” the 4th time he has been honored with that award. In August, Mike’s photo, “Morning Coffee” was named “Best of Show” at the annual River City Art Association show, while just a month earlier his work took home Grand Champion ribbons at both the Vigo County and Parke County Fairs in open class competitions. Mike was also honored this year by the Link Art Gallery’s Midwest Photography Show in Paris, Illinois where he took fourth place with his “Parke County Mosaic”; he also had an Honorable Mention award at the annual Wabash Valley Art Guild show. In addition to his usual writing work, Mike is now also being featured in Indiana Connection magazine, and has already agreed to continue his submissions in 2025. He thanks all of these organizations for their support this year!
